A Mini Trip to Rome

Image
Hey Ladies, Today I have a slightly different post about my recent trip to Italy with my mother and a little disastrous hair situation I had. Alright so I will begin this story right at the beginning.......

10 Simple Back To School Hairstyles

Image
Hello Ladies!! I hope you are all doing well and not only setting but working towards your goals! Now school, university, college which ever you call it for the level of education you are now studying at you are always looking for simple ways to vamp up your style. I always mixed it up and did a variation of different hairstyles for my hair, you know switching up those hairstyles. Most people will have generic hairstyles they do (bun, ponytail and loose) but not to worry ladies I have compiled a little list of 10 different hairstyles to try out! These hairstyles work well with most hair types, textures but mostly medium to long length hair! If you have shorter hair you may wish to tweak them a little for your hair length.

Wash and Go Routine ft. Cantu Beauty Products | Curly Hair

Image
Hello Ladies, I've been hearing some pretty good feedback about the Cantu Beauty Products..... so of course yours truly decided to give them a go! I am going to share with you my current wash and go routine. If you're not sure on what a wash and go routine is (this is where you literally wash your hair, apply some products and leave it be....you don't actually do anything else and leave your natural curls to form).

How To Wrap Your Hair

Image
Hey Ladies, Wrapping your hair is a great way of locking in moisture and also is great for keeping your natural hair or your weave straight. I usually wrap my hair when I have curled it (of course using a low heat method..... gotta avoid heat damage). If you guys want to know about my low heat method just 'Holla' in the comments below and I will be sure to do a blog on it. Anyway this is a super quick method my mother taught me and I'm going to show you guys step by step, so here we go:

My Curly Hair Routine | Natural Curls | Daily Routine

Image
Detailing my day to day curl routine, So I usually switch up the products I use but at the moment this is my everyday curl routine. Everyone has their own little flair and techniques they use when trying to perfect those curls without spending hours on it..... this is my go to when I haven't got much time on my hands and need to wash my hair to get them curls poppin again!

Top 10 Tips for Maintaining Healthy Relaxed Hair | Longer Healthier Hair

Image
Healthier Chemically straightened/Relaxed hair Tips So I know a lot of hair bloggers don't really talk about chemically straightened or relaxed hair. Its all about natural, healthy hair and almost frowned upon to still use these kind of chemicals on your hair. Others prefer their natural hair and others don't. I believe its a personal choice what we choose to do and how we want to look. Its all about maintaining healthier hair and preventing damage to your hair.

8 Braided Hairstyles | How to

Image
Hey ladies, So we all have those days when we want to do something different with our hair and mix up our usual go to hairstyles! These are the times I incorporate some sort of a braid into my hair. It's the best way to add a simple twist and a bit of edge to any hairstyle. So I have done 8 braided hairstyles that are quite simple and super cute for a night out, school or a chilled casual day.

Boots Mini Haul | Clearance Stall |

Image
Hey Ladies, So I popped into Boots on Friday to grab some hair lightening cream (Yes unfortunately my little moustache grows dark black hair so I bleach it.....being mixed race struggle right there!).  Anyway so the section where the hair lightening creams is towards the back of the shop and I never noticed this before but the little clearance section is there too! They had quite a few bits and bobs there so I checked it out and got a few things:

That Single and Happy Life 😄

Hey Guys..... So I thought i'd share some thoughts on being single, content and generally happy with being in singlesville! So I've been single for just under 2 years now...that's HAPPILY single at that too. I find a lot of pressure to be in a relationship comes from older family and older family friends who grew up in a completely different era where by 21 you were married with kids and/or courting as my aunt always says when she's had a glass too many of her beloved red wine  and it seems her favourite saying lately has been "Keep an Aspirin between your Knee's"!

Split Ends Hair Mask **with Papaya**

Image
Hey Ladies, So I have had my straightened for the past 2 weeks and of course this means I have some nasty split ends coming through (sigh)..... So I am going to let y'all know what I do to repair those nasty split ends and moisturise your hair leaving it feeling good with some awesome shine to it! So what you will need ladies:

Braids inspired by Cassie

Image
Hey Guys.... So I saw this photo of Cassie (Ventura) on my instagram @brightoncurlyg <---- give me follow if your not already doing so ) and I just loved the way she had done her braids/dutch braids. She's so gorgeous and I thought i'd attempt to braid my natural hair like this (she has extensions in hers hense why they look so thick).

My First Ever Weave Experience.....

Image
Hey guys..... So I thought I'd share my first weave experience which was literally 6months ago now.....

Curly Hair to Straight Hair

Image
Heya... So I've been wearing my hair naturally curly for a few months now and fancied a bit of a change. I am going to straighten my hair. Now using heat on your hair is never good as it always leaves your hair damaged, dry and brittle.

Simple Finger Coils for Natural Hair

Image
Heya... So instead of doing a general wash and go today, I have opted for some finger coils/curls. Some people's hair type thrives with finger coils and for others it may leave you with your curls looking less defined and if you are currently transitioning into your curls/natural hair...this will help to get you some definition in your curls.

Lazy Wash Day

Image
Heya... So Sundays are always my wash day for my hair....now most weekends I'm excited to give my curls a new lease of life and a much deserving deep wash!  You feel good when your curls feel good and healthy!!

Perfecting Those Edges

Image
Perfect Edges are definitely in! Now some people naturally have those perfectly slick baby hairs that fall into place without any help and then there is the rest of us who need a little extra help... So here's my super quick 2 minute guideline for getting my edges done....they are by no means perfect but you have to work with your hair and your own natural texture!

Week Old Curl Reviver

Image
Hey.... So I generally wash my hair between 1-2weeks, sometimes its because I like the way it looks and want to carry on with that style and sometimes i'm just lazy to wash it out so I let it be. Now if you have curly hair no matter the type of curl you have, your hair will dry out. For someone like me who lives right on the seafront in the UK and I live in Brighton where it gets very windy and the sea salt in the air dries out my hair super fast and means I have to moisturise, moisturise and moisturise more so than I would like. Anyway so I have had these finger curls for about 8days and my hair is feeling very dry, frizzy, loosing the curl definition and in need of some tender, love and care.

"Twisted Sista" Product Review

Image
Heyya, So I am trying out a bunch of new products that we have available in the UK to find what suits my curly hair best. I thought I'd kick it off with the "Twisted Sista" Range from Urban Decay as this was one of the very first brands I started using when I began the journey of embracing my natural curls back in 2008..... Now I'll be honest I do still use heat in my hair on a low heat to dry my hair and I have restricted flat ironing my hair to once a couple of months.

Super Easy DIY Hair Mask

So I thought I would share my favourite DIY Hair Mask.... Now I usually do this once a month or whenever I use any sort of heat on my hair to repair the damage. I will break down what I do and what ingredients I use and links below of where to buy them.

A world full of Kardashians

Hey, I went shopping with my 4year old niece a few weeks and when we were looking at the barbie dolls she said something that really bugged me. When I asked her which barbie she liked the most she responded with "I only like the Barbie's with blonde hair" and she followed this statement with "I only like really super long hair". I don't know about anyone else but these comments really upset and frustrated me that such a beautiful and smart young child already had such a wrong impression of what she imagined was perfect and of what beauty was.
